I wish I was a Glow Worm, a Glow Worm's never glum, 'cause how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?

There's an old black & white photo on my wall, of my father and his 189th Platoon in their Marine uniforms and pith helmets, in San Diego, where he finished his boot camp. It's a personal favorite but it's the date printed at the bottom that gives one pause... December, 1941. Richie quoted FDR with his statement of "...a date which will live in infamy..." Some dates are like that, like September 11, 2001. Some catastrophic events need to be remembered so they won't be repeated, and memorials help to keep them in our minds. Keeping the Arizona's wreck sacrosanct, with the remains of these men intact within, is the most fitting memorial for them... As a Navy vet myself, I know that Navy men often look upon their ships as their homes, complete with their shipmate brothers. Thank you for submitting and sharing this one with us, Lyn.
