For Saturday Night At The Movies
Here is is taking a rest after appearing in the fabulous 2005 remake directed by Sir Peter Jackson.
I have not seen the movie but was carried away by the trailer and may have to make the effort to watch the whole thing :)

I haven't seen this movie either, Lyn.
But this very intriguing portrait is sufficient to enhance my fear for Mr. King Kong, 😁 !
Perfect contribution for the SNATM-theme (🎥)!

I have seen this movie...and I always end up feeling sorry for the gorilla as though it were real...a perfect image to represent this film title and well captured...great submission for SNATM, Lyn.

Perfect submission for SNATM. The movie is quite unique, and I must admit, the ending is very sad. Your photo is incredible. The emotion captured here is mind boggling, one cannot but admire this amazing creature, excellent work. Favorite for me, Lyn.

"Beauty killed the beast," but you captured a much happier moment in the King's life. Here, he enjoys peace on Skull Island from that pesty Tyrannosaurus or climbing tall buildings in New York City. Maybe he is pondering a certain blond human he has taken a fancy to.

Hey, Lyn !

In mid-2004, Bokito escaped from his enclosure in Berlin and climbed its 3 meter high wall. He was escorted back to his cage without incident.
On May 18, 2007, Bokito jumped over the water-filled ditch that separated his Rotterdam enclosure from the public and violently attacked a woman, dragging her around for tens of meters and inflicting bone fractures as well as more than a hundred bite wounds. He subsequently entered a nearby restaurant, causing panic among the visitors. During this encounter, three more people were injured as a result of the panic. Bokito was eventually sedated with the help of a tranquilizer gun and placed back in his cage.
The woman who was attacked had been a regular visitor to the great apes' enclosure, visiting an average of four times per week. She had a habit of touching the glass that separated her from the gorillas, while making eye contact with Bokito and smiling at him a practice that is discouraged by primatologists, as apes are likely to interpret human smiling as a form of aggressive display. Zoo employees had previously warned her against doing this, but she continued, claiming a special bond with him: in an interview with `De Telegraaf` she said, "If I smile at him, he smiles back".(Wikipedia)

Good luck in the contest !

Congrats on having this named Image of the Week, LE. It was much deserved. I have to smile at all the great comments, although John's comments make we wary to smile.
