Self critique time... I've noticed on some of my images that have been uploaded to Caedes, that the colours are different to those displayed during editing in Photoshop. This one seems to be particularly affected, in that there is a definite redness to it. I use a calibrated monitor and use 'Save for Web' with PNG-24 selected (Save for Web, allows you to easily resize to 3200 px as required by Caedes). I assumed, that the colour profile would be applied to the photo. However, that isn't the case. If you use 'Save for Web' and PNG-24, the colour profile is ignored and sRGB is applied instead. Will investigate further...
It is a lovely scene, I have put it on my desktop because it brings me happy memories. This is a fine position to photograph the castle from. Looks like it was taken in the autumn. The only critique I have is perhaps there is a bit too much sky which rather cuts the image in half. Removing the top third of sky gives a more balanced image.
My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
Hi Lyn Glad that it brings back happy memories. Conwy was a regular childhood haunt of mine and I've been back a few times in the last few years or so. The photo was taken in November, so you're right about it being autumn. Not sure about cropping it any more. I'm usually a stickler for the 'traditional' rules of composition, but sometimes I feel the need to rebel and chuck the rule book on the fire!! Additionally, do you mean make it a panoramic type shot by lopping off the top? Anyway, I might re-submit it once I've got the colour profile issue sorted out...
