Again in Bordeaux, France. An interesting water feature near the river. A large expanse of water, about 2cm deep, with small vents dotted around the place. Every 20 minutes or so, fine water vapour beings streaming out of the vents. The overall effect is very dependent on the wind strength at the time. It attracts an interesting mix of people, such as tourists, families and passerby's, all waiting in anticipation for the 5 minutes of childish fun that everyone has running around in the mist.

Beauty is no quality in things themselves. It exists merely in the mind which contemplates them, and each mind perceives a different beauty.

Now this is different! And thanks for your commentary. Nicely composed with the children in the mist. The sky shines with that bright glowing sun and the scattered clouds. Marvelous reflection of sky and buildings - looks like everything is upside down :) But the big action here is the MIST. Very well shown. Kudos Richard :*))

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Oh how interesting! Did you just happen to capture or did you see the opportunity for this in advance and just...wait for the right moment?

I know that as the years have gone by and the quality of cameras has increased, now in 2011 it is difficult to achieve the level of c-index ratings we saw here 5 years ago. A C-I of 65 today is the equivalent of an 85 five years ago. So I'm very confused about your photo. Yes, the cloud over the sun is considerably burned but that adds to the misty backlighting of the children running through the mist. The fact that even their reflections in the water have a mysterious character adds so much. The camera position, the light, and the mist, but your recognizing this scenario as a capture is the key. Many people would not even bothered to raise the camera to this scene but you did a great job with it. It's not just a photo, it's slice of childhood.
