My Friend, Sue, took this picture last month and I insisted it was worthy of sticking up on-line. The fabulous coastal stretch known as Porthleven, in Cornwall, UK. Or somewhere nearby :-) I tried to bring out the impact of the beam of sun striking the ground with some layering and selective darkening and lighting of different areas. The original image was somewhat flat (heavy on the midtones) so I stretched the luminescence histogram to add more punch and contrast. More to come from Sue, definitely of the Carnewas coast. Enjoy!!!!

I am pleased you insisted. I love the lighting and clouded fast changing skies. Fantastic coastline, I can easily imagine the sounds and smells.

Stunning picture, and while I don't have a before and after to compare, I'd say the post-photo was very, very nice! I like the sparkle on the ocean, the textures on the seawall and the bit of blue in the sky.
