sorry guys, this is definitely a crocus, there are hundreds of them that pop up in the ravine, its probably hairy because it is the "wild" variety, unless a 'pasque' flower looks exactly like a crocus, in which case it could be one
thanks for the comments guys. i agree with carl. They are what i have always called a crocus. I looked up a pasque flower and it looks very similar, but i have always been told those are wild crocus' and no one has ever argued it. I dunno.
BTW, great placement of the subject and the DOF is used just right.
