I went to Banff this weekend with my family and took a couple shots. This is one i took at Vermilion Lakes. It is very close to the Banff town site. Town is just to the left of the picture. Edit: Some have asked what i have done with this one, so here is some technical info. Taken with sigma 10-20 @ 10mm, f/11, 1/1250 sec, 1/500sec and, 1/800 sec. I combined the three exposures in photoshop using masks that had gradient fills on them.

Looks like all of nature conspired to allow you this breathtakingly beautiful piece of photography!

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Agree with Cindy. What a great landscape!
Did you use some filter in the sky?

Stunning Milo, simply stunning! Funny, Vermillion Lake(s) is a great spot for photos! I was there on Labour Day last yera and got some good ones. However, not nearly as good as this one!

The color saturation in the sky is magnificent! The contrast of the snow capped mountains even better! I really like the wide angle effect you've used here (shot around the 10-15mm range?).

Fantastic post! Thanks for sharing!

Just like I'm sitting there looking at it in person. Was this made using that tutorial that was put up here recently? I've yet to try that, but if it results with this kind of clarity and all encompassing view, then I'd be a fool not to at least try. Of course the area you were in does help a lot...man....just look at the DOF in the clouds alone..wonderful job.

This is the fifth or sixth terrific shot I've seen in the last couple of days taken with the Sigma 10-20. You've taken a majestic shot and have used this fantastic lens to great effect. Nice work.
