This is has great feeling of motion, I don`t know quite how you did it but think you might have left the shutter open (for about three hours) on bulb. It`s a very nice piece.
Wow...just gorgeous...I've been wanting to try this (I live in the great Northwest where you can't always count on clear skies!) If you don't mind telling me, what was your exposure time, f-stop and ISO setting on this? :)
I think your fans are dying to know (I know I am). I can't figure out how you managed to get that great sunset and the long exposure on the stars as well...is this a composite????
Thanks for the comments. This was shot at 10mm f4.0. The exposure was for 9.5 minutes (if i did my math right 570 sec. To get a shutter speed this slow i used bulb and my remote. It allows me to push the button for the shutter to open and then press it again to close it. It was at IS0 400. It was taken at 1:00 in the morning. I'm not exactly sure what is lighting the sky, but im pretty sure it was the moon. I wasn't able to see the moon from what i can remember. I think it might have been rising behind the mountains there. So to be sure to answer your question phasmid it is not a composite, just a single long exposure.
Ian :)
