Neo-Gothic architecture in the University of Chicago. Gothic architecture is my second favorite architecture style, after Art Deco and before Egyptian, fourth being reserved for Classical. I think it's interesting how the architecture of the Christian faith was converted to serve as the architecture of learning in many universities and colleges (called "Collegiate Gothic"). What struck me as odd when walking through the campus was how there were very few, if any students admiring the architecture with us. To take such grandeur for granted... I can't imagine that.
