Samsung ES75, across Lake Burley Griffen in Canberra. The little Samsung selected a slow shutter speed so there was some hand movement blur. I tried to work with that blur in my Gimping because I loved the scene, particularly the contrast of deep blues and golden light, normally a blurred shot would never see the light of day. This image is a great example of how clouds on the horizon can completely kill a sunset. Note the left side of the image, where the clouds are ON the horizon, there is not sunlight coming thru onto the water, only where the clouds are above the horizon can the light create colour across the water (Or same thing applies to land and sunsets, cloud sitting on the horizon, totally kills the colour potentials.).

Enjoy.

Mikel.

Captivating skies. I like the changes in color and details. I have to disagree about no color on the cloudy side, lol. Intense contrasts even if less detailed.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . When I first saw this...it took the words right out of my mouth. The sun rays coming through the cloud is what really makes this photo. Fantastic job.

A beautiful sunset, Mikel, and you've done a great job working with the results of camera shake. You've created an almost impressionistic scene that's very appealing. The sun's rays and colors are striking. Well done!
