Wow what a dangerous and great close-up. Infortunatly your flash was too strong but I think you took this image in a dark environment. If I can give my opinion, next time try to use a long range lens with no flash to have a natural colors. Anyway it's a good job.
YIkes....I don't like bees other than the fact they are so wonderful for making honey for all of us. Interesting that you could get that many in one place...wow...I would have been a bit worried. But yes, its a bit too well lit, thanx for the shot..verena
Hello Grazvydas,
I found this very interesting. The flash has overexposed most of the image BUT I quite like the velvety texture it's given the bees and the amount of detail it showed in the bees that are in sharp focus. They are quite beautiful and well worth capturing with a really good shot. If I was going to maximize what you have in this photo I'd focus the image on the central area of in-focus bees by cropping or shading out the outer rim of the whole image. This has me thinking about keeping my eyes open for some bees myself. :) Thanks for sharing this photo Grazvydas.
Peace,
Mikel.
I can only agree about it being abit too bright and I might have cropped the right side abit too but otherwise a fascinating shot of so many of these guys all together...glad you made it out safe and without injury.
