I understand that drinking tea made from it will make you see aliens. When I lived in Orlando, the city cut down every one of these that was not on private property. Beautiful tree and a wonderful capture!!
Amazing picture Linda. I have never seen anything like that. What type of flowers are those? Are they tropical in nature? The color of them is quite beautiful. You did a good job of showing us the beauty and color of these blooms as well as a high quality photograph and good composition. Thank you :~)
Hi all...in answer to your questions...yes it is a South American plant that is happy grown outdoors in southern states (zone 9) here in the US. The botanical name is Brugmansia and they come in white, yellow, and pink. But this one is the one that most grow down here in FL since it's huge trumpets start out whitish and quickly turn to that lovely peach color. Some also grow it as a large pot patio plant up north outside in the summer and bring it into a sunny window or greenhouse for winter. As with lots of plants, all parts are poisonous if ingested and some counties discourage people from growing it for that reason. We have had this plant for about 7 yrs now, but if you Google you can find photos of some really old ones that are as big as trees and are a real site to see when in bloom...which btw is several times a year. Thanks for the nice comments on my photo, really appreciate it. :)

Well, that's fun! We have a huge (bigger than your head) maroon Hibiscus down the road from us... It was as unnaturally 'interesting?' looking... can't quite find a word... but yea... Nice job!

Whew! I'm alive to comment. Thought I was mummified or something. Anyway, a beautiful image. I like the orange of it and the lake looks like one of those I have near. Good shot!
Photographers are artists, magicians. They capture beauty so that it will last forever, and they might change it, make it something it is not. Thanks to photoshop!
Aloha Linda, Some of my neighbors have this beautiful flower in their gardens. It reminds me of a wedding dress and all that is sweet about life..."Like you", Thanks for sharing
Also used in Te de campana. These are found wild in Puerto Rico, among other places and when boiled, produce hallucinogenic effects to say the least! Very dangerous flora, yet beautiful and you've captured it well!
