This is my friend Elaine's 50-year-old pet called Bill (or William, if he's been a bad lad). Bill lives in the lap of luxury with his own garden and a constant supply of fresh young dandelion-leaves from the surrounding fields. I painted the photo's actual watercolour for Elaine's 50th birthday, as she's absolutely potty about anything to do with tortoises. If you put Bill on your desktop, please be sure to feed him regularly or he gets bad tempered and is inclined to jump out of the screen and bite you on the nose!

I'm quite impressed with this painted image. What a talent you have - Unfortunately, I can't even draw a stick figure! This is a fine creature. Congradulations..another high mark :)

Wow, what a great watercolor! When I saw the thumbnail, I thought, "Hmm - that almost looks like a painting!" Come to find out, it WAS a painting, looking like a picture! Haha! So very lovely though. :)
