NOTICE: THIS IMAGE IS COPYRIGHTED AND NOT TO BE POSTED ON ANY OTHER WEBSITE. Well, I lost a great friend Sunday. He sat in my lap Sunday morning before I had to get ready for Church. Had I only known that would be the last time. I put him outside and fed him and left for church. I returned at 1:30 pm and as I drove up the drive only 2 cats greeted me instead of three. No Boots. I had a foreboding feeling but dismissed it thinking he was off in the woods somewhere. Supper time arrived-still no Boots. This is Weds and he has still not returned. He know he never will. We have lots of coyotes around here and myself and the neighbors think one of them got him. There will never be another cat like Boots. He was most unusual. He would ride on my zero turn mower with me as I mowed the grass. He would ride on my battery powered cart as I rode around the property. He would even jump up on my four wheel walker and let me push him around on it inside and outside the house. Wherever I was, Boots was there. He was 20 lbs of love. I lost my husband in 2007 and Boots was my primary source of company. I would get many a laugh when people would ask me if I thought I would ever remarry, and my answer would be: "I have a 20 lb cat that sleeps with me and when he stretches out he keeps me warm from my chin to my knees. Not only that, he snores and farts. What do I need a man for?" Ha! Well, some animals are like children to you and you can become very attached to them. Maybe a lot of you have never experienced that kind of love for an animal. That is your great loss. But I know one Caedes member who would understand what I'm talking about-the Lion (John Wambler and Molly) jswgpb. Pardon me as I dedicate this image to the best pal I ever had!

Loads up Molly and a 30-30, Winchester Model 94.... c,mon Molly.......we got us some coyote killin' to do.........Molly says...........sounds good to me,.......I'll point em' out...you blow em' to hell. :) I really am VERY sorry Pat about Boots...........you know that. Had some good years left I'm sure but the ones he did have he couldn't have spent with a better gal. He was a free spirit who loved his life there with you...........ya done good for one of God's critters Momma and why God decided he needed him more..........I don't know......we just gotta accept those things........can't question the man upstairs. You take care Pat and know I've already said a big O' Lion prayer for Boots. Not that he really needed it but it makes me feel better. I'll bet there's another Kitty out there that needs you though. :) ((Hugs)) John & Molly.

Pat ... I'm sorry to hear about Boots & I know what you mean about getting attached to a cat or dog. They are a big part of the family & I truly believe they make our lives whole. I lost my adopted cat recently & I think the same thing happened to her as well ... darn coyotes. She followed me around like a puppy. A beautiful portrait of Boots ... your memories of him will always be with you.

So sorry about your "friend" Boots - lost my dear cat in November and still wish I could see that sweet face again. This is an excellent picture, however and I know how difficult cats can be to catch in a good shot. Good memories always - to Boots!

Pat, As you know I'm an animal lover but really have the weak spot for the furry felines. I'm truly sorry he came up missing, we have coyotes around here as well, but so far my indoor/outdoor cat who came to me as a stray has been unharmed. Sounds like Boots was truly your fella and a great companion. This is a wonderful tribute! So very sorry to learn of your loss.

They say animals know when it is their time and like to be alone. I would like to think that as opposed to a coyote attacking Boots. I prefer dogs over cats but the love a person has for their pet is the same no matter the animal. I have felt your grief several times Owd Momma. That didn't keep me from loving another pet. Hopefully we are both wrong and Boots will turn up one day.

I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your pet Boots,Pat. I lost my beloved dog this past Easter and there is still an empty place in my heart because there is no other Torpedo and never will be. (((((HUG))))) I know this hug doesn't ease the pain but I can relate to what you are going though.

Sorry to hear about your cat boots, Pat. That's one beautiful Kitty image. I had a cat Disappear for 3 months one time. It was sitting in my driveway waiting to be fed when I got home from work one day. He's old now but he's still here. I'm hoping Boots will turn up. Good luck, Take care.

Ah Pat, that is the definition of bitter/sweet. Your photo does him proud. I had a ridgeback who was another one of a kind, I still get choked up when I think of him for long. It's good that your last memory is one of love.
Peace.

I'm so sorry you suffered the loss of such a warmhearted friend... It's amazing how strongly they take possession of our hearts. And when they leave it's also amazing how strong the grief can be. Thanks for posting Boots' portrait... he was a beautiful cat. I've had lots of cats in my life but when I married Bob we could no longer have them because he was dangerously allergic... so we got a dog who is the size of a cat...

Reading your post brought tears to my eyes. I lost my sole male cat on 17th August to cancer. Like Boots he was just short of his 8th birthday and a larger than life character.
His three sisters are upstairs on the bed as I type this. Lovely girlies but we still miss their bruv!

Oh Pat...I know the feeling. I had "Bootsie" my black persian for 17 years! And one day I drove up the driveway and there she was in the ditch in the rain. No more. She has died there. I miss her so much. I still haven't been able to get me a new one like her. One day I will. But for now it will wait. At least you have two others there for you. I have always loved cats. Had them since I was 15. Now I have a "Cougar" hehe...it purrrs too, but only because I am the one making it run...to places I love. I am sorry to hear of your loss, but somehow you will do alright...I know you in that way. You are a strong woman with a soft heart. I shall be thinking of you today. Verena

Pat, I just saw this image. How I missed it, I have no idea.
I am so very, very sorry to hear of Boot's disappearance. Our beloved pets have a fantastic way of weaseling their way into our hearts and they continue to reside there no matter how long they are gone away from us physically.(I know from personal experience!)
I have had cats for as long as I can remember and prefer them over dogs. They are priceless as are your memories of Boot's.
I wish there was someway I could ease the pain of your loss, but only know that I can definitely relate and wish you only the best.
Your image of him is quite stunning. He is one fine looking ginger cat!
Take care angel....*hugs*

Hi Pat, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of a good friend as they can be the best company you ever had.....they know when you do not feel well and they know how to get your attention too! They can make you laugh and smile and they can be so loving too.

My Lady Friends cat that passed away in 2003 was 12 years old and also named boots and so sweet too but jealous of me.

Yes, I can just imagine how you feel now as they are so sweet and kind so take care.
