NOTICE: THIS IMAGE IS NOT TO BE POSTED ON ANY OTHER WEBSITE. This needs to be seen full screen. The thumbnail is not near as pretty. In this view you can see both sides of the wings. It is amazing to me how different they are yet it is the same butterfly.

Pretty indeed..well we know the species of butterfly..The flowers to me look like wallflowers.....Did you know they belong to the Brassica family..(Cabbage)....R.

I have seen it on full screen (I always do with all images) and I am very impressed. Superb clarity and colours. The flowers stand out from the green and your pretty boy has never been prettier.

Beautiful - as were the others. Splendid photography Pat.The colours are so beautifully vibrant.

The flowers are not wallflowers (sorry Richie) they are French Marigolds (Tagetes patula)They are very clever because their roots produce a pesticide so they are often planted as companian plants to vegetables to keep them healthy.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

The colors of flower and butterfly are quite similar. There has to be a scientific reason for that and to my thinking, it is for protection of the butterfly from predators. Great dof here, Pat.
