Hello everyone. Today I donated and became a Caedes cadre member, because I think this site is just too good to ever let go.I enjoy to post and to see all the wonderful works that all of you have made. Because of this and the many questions I get concerning the black backgrounds in many pictures I have posted, I will try to explain how I do this with my cheapy Sony camera. Step 1: shoot when the light conditions are best, just after/before sunrise/sunset. 2: have the sun in front of you (sounds a bit stupid but you need it for the reflection in the flower to create a high contrast 3: select under exposure up to a full stop (-1.7 EV in this extreme case). 4: Select macro 5: select high contrast and saturation. 6:shoot! I hope you will benefit from these comments. You may get pictures like this one: and yes, clean out of the camera.

But words are things, and a small drop of ink, falling, like dew, upon a thought produces that which makes thousands, perhaps millions think and smile. Art is everywhere, except it has to pass through a creative mind.

Hey, I thought Jesus didn't like churches? Okey, so why do we crowd around with people we barley know or like to worship him?

Strange, I thought you already were a Cadre. I love florals in the dark, the touch of light makes the colors and shapes pop

oh, look! lots of avatars of yours :D
i was wondering, perhaps you know what kind of flower is this?

i love the colours of the petals, such wonderful shades.. especially the gradient violet and pink.. so soft and beautiful! but the lightning is simply spectacular! all those shadows and contrasts make this image look like a scenery from an enchanted forest...
it certainly looks magical!

thank you for sharing these beauties with us! enjoy your day :)

i really love the very sharp focus in front but very limited depth of field, so soft by the time it reaches the flowers in the back... not only does your camera have a good macro setting, you have an amazing eye for using it :)
