This vulture is actually good-looking compared with the species of vulture we have around here (Turkey Vulture). We've raised and released a couple of orphaned ones. Still don't know if I think he's decorative enough for my desktop, but it's a wonderful shot. I've downloaded it while I'm thinking about it... :-)
I've seen these birds in Florida, always at the road kill animals or circling overhead. Wonderful close-up. Like all your other animal/bird shots, your detail is incredible!
what a nice little caring and loving birdie :D :D i wouldn't get too close to this animal.. it doesn't look much friendly to me :)) but, it's an outstanding capture, well done! i see you have had a lot of work lately.. but it was worthwhile, the result is your impressive gallery!
and this little..hm..fellow :) it appears to me as if he's wearing a fur coat :)) i love the tremendous details of the image, the focus is simply brilliant. but the look in his eye is scary... :) oh :) you certainly know how to photograph strange looking birds. both this one and the hangover owl are weird..but marvellous :)
thank you for sharing your great images with us! enjoy your day :o)
