Today Sail Amsterdam started. An armada of thousands of international (tall)ships made a run through the Noord-Holland channel to Amsterdam. What an incredible sight! I may post a few other shots if you please.

While there is perhaps a province in which the photograph can tell us nothing more than what we see with our own eyes, there is another in which it proves to us how little our eyes permit us to see. ~Dorothea Lange

I do love the tall ships. Were you on land or sea when shooting? Very colorful shot and a good line up of the bows and masts.

Amazing. I found their website and they have some gorgeous thumbnails but that's it. ;( I'm counting on you here. lol Are you attending the whole festival? Sounds like good eats, great for kids, fireworks, the works. I'm jealous. I would love to see just one of these babies up close and personal let alone an entire fleet. I'd even swab an entire deck just to be able to go aboard!

Great shot of the tall ships, Paul. I've been aboard a number of them, but I always like to see them and photos of them again and again. And I'll be eagerly waiting to see photos you've taken of other tall ships. No matter what country they're from, nor how big or small they are, they are fabulous -- and so are their officers and crews. Thanks in advance for others you might post.

Hi, Paul, it's great: whenever I've a look at the pictures I allways find Your's. Instinctively. Maybe we have the same kind of view, the same preferences. After all these weeks I'm able to write this message to You. I've got all Your photos - mostly. Because I'm dutch, too and know
and love the landscapes like You do. Please continue to join me. Thank You in advance.
