Hi Paul
wat een prachtshot....alles klopt...voor en achtergrond, scherpte en niet te vergeten het licht.
prachtig hoe de scherptediepte precies de vlinder en bloem vangt.
10/10
Such amazing detail, Paul! Even down to the color of the flower being reflected in the top of the wing. Pick up another 10/10 vote from me and a thank you for a wonderful addition to my butterfly collection.
I love butterfly images and this is one at the top of my list. I can NEVER get close enough to capture the detail you have here. Ordinarily the "hotspots" in an image bother me, but in this case they work to frame the entire subject. I guess what I'm trying to say is that they work with this image instead of detract. A 10 by me, in my favorites and on one of my laptops for a week. Thanks.
Fabulous! It's so sharply in focus, and even at 1600x1200 it's great quality. Superb macro.
The only thing I have to say about improvement is that there's a bit too much of the background on the left side of the picture. If you just cropped it I think it would look nicer.
Beautiful shot Paul. I agree with littleufo, however. I think the shot would have looked better if there wasn't so much space, but I love this. (critique purely for the sake of it not being an, OMG! comment ;)
Beautiful butterfly, the pattern on the wings are so pretty and I'm the same as LadyFly, I forgot my password so that is why you got two comments from me, this is also in my favorites! :)
I saw this as a thumbnail on the home page and opened it quickly to full size thinking "Woah! Excellent butterfly photo. I haven't seen one this good in a long time." Then I go back to the submission page and see it's yours, Paul, and my thought changes to "Oh. Of course. It's Paul's. Of course it's going to be exceptional." Those wings, like sails, are in and out of focus, as they should be, giving us a sense of dimension, with the most important part, the body and head, in perfect focus. The flower it's resting on is also in perfect focus and the background bokeh is spot on. What blows me away is that it's been here for nearly 11 years and this is the first time I've seen it. Belatedly a great job, Paul, as usual.
