Very intriguing photo I have to say. Everything becase of the clouds reflections. The blues and greens work here very well together. This image definitely calms me down.
You have done it again Paul, another good image. Very creative, you could have chosen to add the clouds on the sky but you did not and it works great. The gradient of the water and sky works very good, you are able to capture the moment and show feeling on your images. you are a good photographer Paul, you show it image after image.
Now, tell me what you think about this. I feel that there is too much action, meaning that the canal on the right leads your eye in one direction, the clouds in the water to another, and then you are left to wonder what is to left (there seems to be another canal leading somewhere else). Finally it might be a visiual effect but is the horizon crooked? and Im not overlooking the idea of the composition, it is a wonderful image. Im jus wondering about the technical side of the image a bit more. since we can see is good a image. I hope I did not confuse you.
Thanks again!
David this photo was shot with a pocket camera, not my fancy SLR. That camera has it's limitations and it shows a bit, you are right about that. But it will have to do on this one...
Paul
Ok, Paul, so you shot this with a pocket camera. What are the specs on that camera? Your depth of field is very good. And did you not include the overhead clouds in your original shot, or did you crop them out?
Hi there Paul! I like that you framed out the overhead clouds. It certainly enhances the reflections in the water. The canal seems to "run off the page' on the right side......I find that a bit mysterious, but not at all offensive! The fact that you left the clouds in the upper right in the sky as well as the water adds much depth to this image and makes one's eye look all over for the 'elusive' clouds...the patch of green grass along with the brown grasses add just the perfect balance of color to this image. Well done my friend... thank you :~)
