Bye, Bye, Butterfly

This butterfly was sitting indoors on my window pane and allowed me to do some easy shots. Because of the reflection of the flash in the window I removed the window and replaced it by the very blue sky that the butterfly was looking at and hoping to reach... But not to worry, he (or she) is flying free again and is unharmed. Can you imagine, it was just sitting still in my hands and even allowed my kids to stroke it's wings. I never expected I could get into contact with a butterfly so easy. But now that it's free again, it's bye, bye, butterfly!

this is sooooooooo awesome Paul. I hope I get it in the VB, so I can give it a ten. I'd rate it higher if I could. great job

A friend of mine works in a camera store. The other day a very confused looking woman approached the counter and handed my friend a camera. She said "I took pictures, but I forgot to have film in the camera. Can you please get them out of the camera for me?"

Just got this in the VB. It scored very high with me. What an unusual capture. It appears as if you caught them in mid-flight. This is a keeper.

Echt schitterend, daar heb je echt geluk mee gehad, ze steken heel mooi af tegen de blauwe lucht.

Paul, the way you've manipulated the sky into the image is really excellent, so it became a very beautiful image. Thanks for your nice narrative too. Regards, Cornelius

The backdrop couldn't have been better. The blue sky really compliments this fellows coloration and he must have trusted you (if butterflies can trust) to let you touch him. I'll bet his wings were nice and soft. Beautiful composition, Paul.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

These must be very friendly butterflies. The exact same type was flying back and forth to greet me and sitting on my hand and my granddaughter's. I love what you have done with this, removing the window. Excellent!

The tale you tell about the butterfly is almost as beautiful as the butterfly itself Paul...makes a tear fall..gently..downward..and makes me appreciate the beauty that you are able to capture, what a tender thing to be able to touch this lovely creature...V
