There are beautiful colours and tones in this one, it has a real postcard look about it. Are the gates still operated by the windlass or are they mechanised?

Paul, watching this image, I like to sing one of the famous Amsterdam songs. I have to blame you for that (lol, because of my poor singing qualities), as your image brougt back that old fashioned Amsterdam feeling. Stunning image to me! Regards, Cornelius

And to think I was there once...sooo long ago, but I have never forgotten it...You know I sailed on the New Amsterdam, the huge oceanliner....a most wonderful trip.I would love to be sitting there having a lovely cup of coffee or tea with you...V
