Paul, reading your title, really hope you are wrong, as I hate the cold. Skating and throwing a log on the fire, aren't my favorite things, but I fully understand that others have a different meaning. Nice image of the Ballenberg open air museum showing that Swiss people don't have to suffer from cold. Regards, Cornelius
Anything that excites me for any reason, I will photograph; not searching for unusual subject matter, but making the commonplace unusual.

I love this way of stacking wood. Do you remember the man that used to come here to caedes? his name was Haaken, but went by
Wilderness_North....they stacked wood much like this in Sweden.
But they had a HUGE pile like a Haystack...Not sure how you reach the top. I'm glad you posted this Paul...it's a great winter shot for sure.Hugs to ya..Verena
***ATTENTION***Please help me! I'm about to buy my DSLR in a few weeks for my 21st birthday. Check out the discussion about it here.
Also, I'm trying to bring Caedes to myspace, so check out the thread here.
Ah, I do remember the days of chopping and hauling and burning. These pieces of firewood are so nicely stacked and will certainly keep a lot of people warm this winter.
You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.

In survival school we were taught that you should cut enough wood that you think you will need to stay warm then....cut 5 times that amount. These folks clearly have learned that lesson. Nice shot.
