The main dome is 53 meters high and has a diameter of 26.5 meters. At the time it was built, the dome was the highest in the Ottoman empire. The complex has four minarets, a number only allowable to mosques endowed by a sultan (princes and princesses could construct two minarets; others only one). The minarets have a total of 10 galleries indicating that Suleiman I was the 10th Ottoman sultan.

What a gorgeous view. I could look at this for a long time. Lots of detail to take in. Once again the information is excellent. Love this angle. The colors and the clarity are top notch. Very good post, Paul.

Splendid, splendid, splendid! There is nothing quite as marvelous as Islamic architecture and calligraphy and you have captured both in this wonderful and expansive image of the inside of the Sulaymaniye.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Do you use a wide-angle lens for a picture like this? It's absolutely breathtaking.
