Probably the most colorful duck in the world.
I shot this with an EF 70-200mm F4 L IS USM lens on a Canon 40d. Yes, I admit the duck and I were both just showing of, but we both liked the result!
Anything that excites me for any reason, I will photograph; not searching for unusual subject matter, but making the commonplace unusual.

Happy Easter Greetings to you my friend...may it be a fun and glorious holiday for you and your family...I send wishes and hugs...to you!! May your children enjoy the sweet chocolates...and jelly beans...on this day!!! ;o) (if you do not celebrate this holiday...please enjoy my greetings...at any rate)...*smiles*....
I simply love your 'mandarin' duck... this 'Asian' duck is marvelously multicolored...so beautifully artistic... in and of itself...so fun to photograph...I am sure...now that I think about it... the little thing would fit well in a child's 'Easter' basket...he,he!!
I understand that these ducks are sometimes 'domesticated'...have you ever thought of engaging in this...I am teasing you Paul...I know how busy you are...As a pet...it most assuredly would please your children and attract attention...It would be fun I think!! ;o) People might wonder a bit...but then...that would be OK too..wouldn't it?....teasing again....are you laughing...as yet?...
Paul your photography is just terrific...the subject is so full of color and your work...so well done...he/she seems to be very contented...
This is my favourite of ducks because of its stunning colours! You have caught it in all its glory, and so it is going straight into my fav's. So thank you for sharing and I agree with marilynjane, your photography is truly amazing!

Hello Dear Paul...this is such a precious photo. These duckies have such radiant gorgeous colours and you got it perfectly. For some reason I thought I saw this photo before. I wonder if you had posted it before this. But in any case, I love it. I especially like the ripples in the water. When I lived in Louisiana there were many duckies..here in ORegon there are a lot of Mallards, and they are colourful as well. Thank you Paul for such a cutie photo. Verena

The best darn duck photo I have ever seen, those colors blow me away, and the focus is spot on. This is a keeper, and in my faves. You have the same camera and lens I do, except mine is not IS. Great work Paul.
Hello Paul....This is indeed a great capture showing so much detail and colour in this most beautiful bird....Well done....All the very best to you Paul...................Mick.
