Hi Paul,
Just got this in the VB and had no idea it was a contest entry. As a regular post, I'm guessing the sun may have been behind you as the rocks in the forefround look slightly overexposed compared to the rest of the picture. Having said that, I think that compositionally this is superb post (contest or no), the focus and the DOF are excellent!

Wonderful shot! Glaciers are such a phenominal force of nature. Sadly, they are shrinking across the planet at a dramatic rate. Soon, photos like this will be records in history. Very nice work: Ricky.

Oh Paul...first of all I love the contrasts and textures in this photo..How wonderful!! The purity of the white snow, the soil showing in that gorgeous colour, the fluff of the clouds against the bloo sky...the gray and rocky mountains...and then on top of all that good stuff...the curve of the road going who knows where. It's magnificent!! I love that greenish lime kind of colour on those rocks..what makes them that colour? Just a wonderful scene, I'm sure you really enjoyed that holiday too...wish I had snow right now...its SOOO hot here..V
