NOT! he really is regal. beautiful feathers. it's just that head! i don't find it attractive. no doubt he wouldn't find me attractive either unless i was deceased and out on the highway (roadkill). anyway you've done a great job making this one look very good!

Big brother's watching you :o) A mistreated dog should try to leave a deposit on their masters best carpet, after all it's important to establish who's boss ... Welcome to the last resort. :o)

LOL. Must be a big backyard! He's actually looking quite pretty, rare for vultures. Did you have to play dead to get him to come this close? :)

Really? Maybe it's what they are called or what they do that is the big turn off, but they are magnificently made like all the other creatures of earth and sky. Wonderful shot, Paul.

What an incredible capture of Mother Nature's garbage can Paul! The detail on this feathered friend of yours in awesome. Our vultures are always black and they seem to mimic death int heir appearance. Is this a juvenile or just another breed of the vulture?
The hook in their beak is quite a fascinating tool that they use for tearing flesh if I remember correctly what I have read about these birds.I love the coloration in this capture.
I hope there wasn't anything tot he vultures' liking in your back yard!
To my favorites this picture flies.
Many thanks for sharing this with me :=)

What a lovely shot. The only time I've ever seen them outside of a zoo was in Africa but I was too far away for a good capture.

I never realized how nice looking they are up close.

Gorgeous shot of this majestic looking vulture! The clarity and colors are wonderful. But wich backyard do you mean?! It's a bit hard to believe that it was in your backyard... did not know that they lived here in the wild.
