Pirate of my back yard. This is about as colorful a bird gets in my surroundings. For other colors I have to either visit a zoo or maybe one of you around the globe! P.s. in reaction of what is written down below, the background is not softened, the lens provides this background.

Wonderful capture of this landbased buccaneer Paul.
Maybe simple (as we got used to sparrows, lol), but perfect!
Regards, Cornelius.

Hey Paul, great capture. Here is another tidbit about your
friend. His appearance will change as his feathers wear down.
Notice that the ends are gray. His throat will become black and
his head rust. Your friend is a House Sparrow/Weaver Finch and
is an immigrant to the United States.

You could always 'color' this one, Paul! Jack looks mighty fine out on his limb. Looks like you might have been out there on another limb with him. Beautiful photo.

Oh Paul this is amazing and absolutely beautiful! How fortunate to have such a camera to be able to take a photo like this. I've been making an effort at doing canvas paintings of birdies lately. And I'm really enjoying it. Soon I will post one of those creations. I would like to paint this one, if you'll give me your "ok" which I know you will! Bigtime hugs to you. and thank you ahead of time.verena

I have only just found this little chap of yours which was being displayed on the main page. These used to be so common and were the first thing I remember waking me in the morning - them chatting and chirping sat just outside my bedroom window. Its a pity they are fewer now and I hardly ever hear them these days. I do love this image very much, and the lighting and clarity is perfect. Fav'd and thank you for sharing!
