I have always had a deep love for arches, and here there is a most wonderful group of them.(including the almost hidden ones on the right. What beautiful depth you have capture here. And again, the soft, gentle treatment of colours. I love the detail work on the columns also. Excellent and wonderful photo. Verena

I really like the vanishing point perspective in this one, and the contrast of the delicacy of this series of stone arches (and what a strong contrast there is in delicate and stone) is completely enhanced by the clarity of your shot. The deep patinated bronzes and golds in the arched ceiling give the photo a the character of a renaissance painting. The distant gabled roof, seen through the far right arches, is a little washed, but that is something that could only be adjusted by shooting a second photo with an entirely different exposure, and then masking it in. I suppose it could have been cropped off but I think the space to the right of that last pillar is necessary to the construction of the frame. Saved and faved, thanks Paul.
