Navajo National Monument preserves three of the most intact cliff dwellings of the ancestral puebloan people (Hisatsinom). The Navajo people who live here today call these ancient ones Anasazi. The monument is high on the Shonto plateau, overlooking the Tsegi Canyon system in the Navajo Nation in northern Arizona. My next post will be the Keet Seel cliff dwellings, which are located in of of those caves on the left side. Enjoy!

Just wanted to pop in and tell you that I just saw this in the VB and gave it a rare "9". Since I've never awarded a "10" you are in rarified company as far as I'm concerned. The posting is not only a perfect desktop shot, but the composition is flawless.

I have never been to anywhere like this before, but your captures are breath-taking. I like how the sunlight high-lights the contours of the rocks and crevices. Well done!
