thoughtful tutorial. though most users needing assistance uploading an icon will be new. and I'm not sure they will know what you mean by avatar while they are searching for help uploading an icon. so this may prevent you from getting some of the views you could have gotten. just my 2 cent. I like the use of caedes screen shots, tho some of them are small or a bit blurry, perhaps they were resized? btw how did you get so smart for age 0?????

Which is why I opted for the Avatar/Icon title on the actual tutorial & had the big hand pointing at what I mean.
(I edited the title just now so that also tallies up with the Tutorial title so a search would bring up either Icon or Avatar.)
I used Avatar & Icon as both names are commonly used/recognised, giving a bigger chance of people knowing what is meant without the big hand pointing at my Avatar.
The only thing that looks blurred slightly to me is the red text, that maybe wasn't such a good idea. size wise, I focussed mainly on the text being legible even at the smaller res, the images are just visual clues, they look fine at the higer res's though, to me anyhoo.

Can you help me ?? As you can see, I safely downloaded an avatar, no problem. However, off the the same site, ( can I name it ? ) I downloaded several very cute animated avatars that when I resized them, suddenly they're no longer animated !!!

Why does my avatar look distorted? I re-sized it to 60x60 in Irfanview like i do every other avatar I've ever used and yet it doesn't look right - help?

According to the Properties of the image it's 42x60 but seems to be displaying at 60x60 so is stretching.
So create a 60x60 blank image and then add your image into that image leaving a gap either side and it should be fine.
