This was taken on my way back to Ohio from Arizona in March. It's an old gas station on Rt 66 In Glenrio, TX. Glenrio sets right on the Texas and New Mexico boarder. The town and Rt 66 died when they built Instate 40. This might be all that is left of the town. When I was there they were demolishing the other buildings. If you go into Google Earth and type in Glenrio TX you will see a red 360. Click on that. It will give you a 360 view of the gas station from under the awning. It's very cool. Thanks, in advance, for any and all of your comments.

Philip this is a lost gem my friend. I am glad you captured it. You always seem to get really good dof and the colors are good to. I would be interested to see this in a sepia tone. But I am a big fan of that.

I don't know how old this is but it sure looks old and I think you should put it in the old buildings contest...great find and capture...thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the google link. Wow, a real place that you could easily blink and you'd miss it.

What a good shot Phillip. I traveled Rte 66 several times in my younger days. I am glad I did. I just wish I had taken a bunch of photos. Thanks for this one. You should do well in the contest.

Cameras are like people--sometimes they lose focus.

I really like the angle of your composition. The bare trees beyond are a nice compliment to the old structure. Definitely an interesting example of a bygone era. Although not a large distraction, I think the pole in the distance would be nice cloned away.

I have to agree with Allison. I too find the power pole the only distraction. Love the shot, as well as Route 66. Well done.
