If there's one thing I know almost nothing about, it's flowers. Next to that I would say that my expertise in flower photos is nearly as flawed as my knowledge of flowers. This shot is better than any flower photo I've ever taken. I can never get the point of focus in the right place, the depth of field is too short, and the clarity of my flower shots leaves much to be desired.
That being said, your flower shot is very good. Good colors, excellent clarity, nice contrast of light and dark, a good blurred background. I'd give this a solid 6 and maybe a 7 if I didn't have a headache.
