As some of you know, I enjoy taking pictures of lightning. This is one I caught with my camera a while ago when I was on Cocoa Beach. It shows one of the structures (lower left hand corner) at Port Canaveral, Fla as it is struck by a lightning bolt. There is plenty of room for your icons.

Actually the exposure time was only 0.6 sec, with a F-stop of f/3.2 and ISO of 200.

I have captured enough good lightning shots to start a 'lightning' gallery here. But I am spreading out my postings of them.

The work of art may have a moral effect, but to demand moral purpose from an artist is to make him ruin his work. (Johann Wolfgang von Goethe - 1832)

wow this is an awesome picture. I love how the lightning is only on the left side, and the picture gradually fades to black on the right. very cool. there is great detail in the clouds, even though you seem to be far away. very very fun picture! ~abby

i'd love to get a shot like this one. did you set up for it just because it was storming or was it just luck? were you hand holding your camera or using a tripod? jen

What a "striking" photo. The lightning looks alive and those clouds are beautiful. Great shot.

I really like this one. It's a good capture. May I suggest that you try a cropped version of the lower left area. Keep them coming.

Florida would be the place to be in such wild storms as these. Lighting shows are better than any payed for entertainment. My husband is from Canada's east coast and because of the weather being so foggy and dense they rarely get lightning, just lots of rain. But out here in Canada's praries we get some crackin good storms. My husband was shocked at the sight of forked lightning being so close to home. This is a really great picture. I love how the clouds light up just the portion of the sky on the left leaving an interesting color tone in the clouds that is very beautiful. I like your other lightning shots as well. Nice job. Cheers..................Amaris
