We had an ice fog last night that produced interesting spikes on even small twig. This was taken leaning out the bedroom window. A bit chilly, but worth the result.

Eubeen: No, they are definitely crabapples. They turn bright red and almost translucent in the winter.

We had fog in Utah that left this same type of frost on everything this week! I find it fascinating! Great close up! Love the colors and detail!

Chris, Actually, beyond simple color balancing and adding the outer frame, I didn't do anything else to the shot. It was a cloudy morning and there just wasn't much bright colors around beyond the crabapples.
