We visited Spearfish Canyon and hiked to some of the waterfalls back in July. This was on the trail to RoughLock Falls. Coneflowers in the foreground and my nieces in the background (pretty flowers in their own rights).
I like the view you choose for this shot - I can feel the warmth of the sunshine as I sit among the Coneflowers knowing my family is having a good time.
The Canyon is one of my favorite places to visit, on a par with Glacier National Park. I like how the flowers and your nieces are clustered in the lower right, a perfect diagonal positive space contrasting with the solid negative space of a mirrored shape in the green foliage, and the direction of movement for the girls and some of the flowers is the same. Add that yellow-green tree in the upper left to the girls and the composition dividing line is nearly perfect, from the top right corner down to the bottom left, one of the classic composition theories taught by my fine art professors. Nice work here, Jeff.
