These flowers dry right on the stalks without losing their petals. The stalks are about 3 feet high and the dried plant looks like someone sprayed a fine silver dust over it from the top. I wasn't successful in finding out what kind of flowers these are.

Nice image and your detailed description suggests that you might have some more shots of the same flowers. Please do post them.
