This is the crab apple tree outside my bedroom window. I love looking out at it this time of year. Years ago I took a picture of this same tree in winter, covered in thorny frost and bright transparent red fruit. Someone seeing the picture insisted it was a persimmon tree. A quick look at persimmon fruit and I thought he was right. Now someone asked based on the flowers if this was a crab apple. Looking again I found that persimmon flowers look nothing like this tree. And I found that some crab apples are nearly transparent. Learning more than just photography these days.
