I wasn't going to take the trail to this fall this year, but one of the campers badly wanted to go on a ten mile hike. Despite nearly three dozen ticks and getting rained on, it was a great hike. Oh! And I managed not to step on the rat snake laying across the path. I didn't even see it until Caleb called me snake blinded after I passed it.

This is a lovely setting for a waterfall Jeff. Very nice photo. Glad You did not hurt the rat snake - they are valuable to our environment.

Gentle is putting it too harsh... The water seems to be dripping most peacefully like crystal drops indeed!

Cool shot of this lovely falls, bet the snake wasn't too pleased about being stepped on, lol. Sure hope you got all the ticks away from you.
