Having just retired after 40 years in the field of historic preservation and interpretation, I find that modern elements in historic settings have a way of just leaping out at me. This is a gorgeous structure but the TV antennae and satellite dish are a hoot, partly because they are contradictory to each other. I'm also trying to figure out what that "black box" is on the right side of the windmill's cap. An air conditioner, maybe. Here on the U.S. northern plains, our grain elevators tend to get quite hot in the summer months, particularly near the top where slotted or rotating vents alleviate some of the heat.
If you've ever wanted to make a difference but found it hard to believe that one person could... check out the Kiva Team Caedes discussion thread and discover that anything is possible.
It looks like it was rigged for larger blades at one time.
