I wish I was a Glow Worm, a Glow Worm's never glum, 'cause how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?

Visitors to the Japanese portion of these gardens walk on a path, through a kabuki gate (seen on the far right) which signals public space, to view a red torii gate at the base of s scaled replica of Mt. Fuji, the pointed mound behind the cedars(?). Another torii gate (essentially "bird perch") sits on top of "Mt. Fugi". This replica is 377.6 inches tall; the real Mt. Fuji in Japan is 3,776 meters tall, making it approximately 400 times larger than this scaled replica. Torii, the iconically Japanese gateways that typically mark the entrance to Shinto shrines are common all over the country, and are even used as a symbol on maps to mark the location of a shrine. Along the path visitors take here are 24 carved stone lanterns, ranging from 2.5 feet to 11 feet tall. A short one can be seen between the last two trees on the left and a tall one on the very far right, next to the kabuki gate. I lived and worked in Japan for a while in the early 70's and had a chance to see a shrine and a number of torii gates.
