I decided to take you down one of the trails in Pickett State Park. This one is known as the Ladder Trail. It is a two-mile loop and we are at the start of it. To the left is a 15 to 20-foot cliff and to the immediate right is a dropoff of another 15 to 20-feet down to the river. The trail is just wide enough for one and a half people to walk it (i.e. if you meet someone coming the other way, you both are going to need to turn sideways).

I wish I was a Glow Worm, a Glow Worm's never glum, 'cause how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?

Ooh, looks and sounds like an interesting challenge...better travel light and hope we don't meet anyone coming the other way as I don't want to fall off the cliff:)...anyhow, great shot and looking forward to more.

...or hang on to one of those trees while the other party goes by. Do you recall hearing about the Montana bride who shoved her new husband off a mountain trail, in 2013, in Glacier National Park? The beginning of that trail is like this, very slim, so the Park Service drilled large eyebolts into the wall and ran a green garden hose through them. Inside the hose is a chain. If you meet someone coming from the other direction, or you just suffer a bit from vertigo--the drop there down to the Sun Road is about 250 feet--you have that hose/chain to hang onto as you back up into the wall to make safe passage for the other party. This really looks like our kind of hike, my wife and I, and I'm hoping you'll post more of it. [incidentally, the spot Jordan Linn Graham pushed hubby off was more like a thousand feet down... he didn't survive.]
