A bridge? After all the other adventures this is almost mundane. Pickett State Park was one of the many Conservation Corp projects back in the 1930's and this one of their work projects.
Boy they're leaving nothing out of this trail, are they? My wife and I really dig hikes like this and the stacked rocks, utilizing natural materials from the local area, is a classic CCC trademark. Here in North Dakota they used tons of round field stones or stacks of flat sandstone for their constructions. I realize there aren't a lot of comments being left on these submissions, Jeff (I know... foolish people), but I for one am not really wanting the trail to end soon.
If you've ever wanted to make a difference but found it hard to believe that one person could... check out the Kiva Team Caedes discussion thread and discover that anything is possible.
