f/13@1/320s ISO 200 very early morning sun in spring. This is a 'Peace' rose, the hybrid tea rose introduced by French horticulturalist Francis Meilland in 1945 that so rocked the gardening world. I'm thinking of giving it a little more headroom. I vacillate between wanting to shove the flower right into the camera in tribute to O'Keeffe and wanting to leave enough space around it to invite the viewer into the frame. Thanks for checking it out.

The light and shadow play is amazing. The black background really brings out the true nature beauty of the rose.

Now that is an image of a rose. Not sure why you left the dead bit in there - or is it a bud? Great light.

Interesting how the one Rose petal is curled around the new Rosebud. I love the simplicity in the entire photo. And the light coming from above sure shows off this beauty. Verena

Love the shot as is. I like being invited in. This rose is so rich in its history. A beautiful rose that nearly did not come to be. It is truly amazing she made it through the perils of the time to become the amazing rose she is. Fine tribute to her!
