Ok...quite a few programs used to create this...the fractal was made in UF...the grid took me ages because firstly I had to draw it in paint then colourize it and fade it in PS...some of the embossing was also hand-drawn in Photo Filtre and the rest was down to PS :D...hope you enjoy!...PrettyFae x

I am looking at the work you put into this and not at my personal preference for wallpaper design and I can give you the highest marks for design, layout, clean work, color blends, etc. Your work is not only unique, you have some major artistic talents when it comes to design. Well done. ;)

Wow, Fae. This shows quite a bit of sophistication using the tools you've used. Photoshop??? If so, maybe I can speed some things up for you. The grid: You can create a small 20 x 20 pixel file with transparent background. Then draw your grid in such as way that when it repeats over and over it will blend together well. Then select all of it, go into the edit menu and choose "Define Pattern..." Give your pattern a name, then close your file. Back to your big drawing now. Select the area you wish to fill with your pattern and choose Edit-Fill... Pick the pattern you saved, and bang, there you are without having to draw it all by hand. Then you can switch into quickmask mode (Q key), select the gradient tool and pick the foreground to transparent gradient. Draw your gradient from left to right, then press the Q key again to get out of quickmask mode. Then hit the delete key. Your grid will fade out like you've done in your picture. The other thing I can help you with is the emboss. Pick a picture you want and save it as a photoshop file (it's got to be a .psd file). Then choose Filter-Texture, and in that dialog box you can choose the file and set the emboss settings. All there is to it. By the way, I'm totally impressed with the skills you've been showing recently. Keep up the good work, my friend. Ask questions. We're all glad to help. Take care.

Really good wook Fae...again, somehow I missed this one. I love the embossing. As for the gridwork...here's a tip. There is an excellent free filter from from Richard Rosenman called "Grid Generator" You can create a separate black layer in PS7 and use the generator to create custom grids very easily. If your image is less than full size, the grid will look very strange as many of the lines will be missing...worry not. You need to click "view actual pixels" to get an idea of what it will look like.

The cool thing is that you can set up a rectangular selection and create the grid only with that. Use the "Screen" blend mode and then decrease opacity or fill until it looks right. This will save you a lot of work and give nice professional results.
