Nice to have you back Fae.This is,as you said,a different approach to your more serene neverland of tinkers.Composition, lighting, colours and balance are all there to make this creation one of your best..in spirit....Jim
I like this mostly. Very interesting texture work. The only thing that bothers me just a bit is that her hair is too shiny. It draws the eye and lessons the illusion. Here's what I suggest. Make an alpha channel with some hair like texture that you draw in black and white with a very fine brush...prolly one pixel or two. Draw in the new layer, right over the shiny hair so you get the hair texture in the right place. Save that layer as an alpha channel...just go to channels and click the new layer button at the bottom and save your hair layer there. Name it 'hair' Now comes the cool part. Use the "Render" filters light effects filter and in the option where you can put a hight reference use that channel...it will be listed. where ever it is white you'll have a high spot and where ever it is black you'll have a depression. Because you've used very fine brushes you should get a 3D like hair texture on your image. experiment and if you have questions, email me.

Come away, O human child!
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand and hand,
For the world's more full of weeping than you can understand -"The Stolen Child"
Ooooh, a dark twist from your regular work! Great job on this one Fae. I really like the 'skin' that you gave the angel and the beams of light throughout the shadows.
This one is really good. (~sniff~) She looks really sad and hurt, wondering where she is, what has happened and what will happen. I love the anime look always works for me. I hope this angel all the best. Great work kepp it up! (~sniff, sniff~)
When I got tired of running from you
I stopped right there to catch my breath
There your words they caught my ears
You said, “I miss you son. Come home”
