It's not really readable in 800 x 600, sorry. :/ This is how I make most of my gradients. Read the tutorial steps from left to right instead of up to down, initially; then follow the arrows once you get to them.

I made a typo where I put "follow the arrow to step 7" when it should be "6", but as long as you just look at the numbers, it's okay. :)

Ahhhh.....the mysteries of Apophysis become clearer...and clearer. Thanks for answering the elusive question of how to make your own gradients. I wish there were about 100 more tutorials right up this same alley!
