20+ years ago, I heard about Caedes and started downloading photos for my desktop display. A few years later, I got my first digital camera and posted a few shots. I asked for constructive criticism. Some very generous photographers told me what they liked and more importantly what they did not like. Ever since that time, I have posted the sorts of photos I used to love to download. Many of those generous photographers are gone, but I want to thank them anyway.

All constructive comments are much appreciated.

I see a real change in your photos when you first posted and now - this is excellent in all respects. I too first found Caedes looking for desktop photos and then began posting after I retired and had time to devote to photography. I too miss many of the people no longer on the site and always appreciated the comments and criticisms.

Roger, I've been a Caedes member for over 19 years. You've been a member for even longer. That's why I can confirm what you write in your narrative. I often look back with nostalgia to the time when Caedes was bustling with life. Sadly, little of that remains these days. That's why I cherish the contributions of the current active members, of whom you are one. Your humorous touch adds to that. Thanks for that, and WTG!

I also have been here 19 years and it is quite sad looking at my 'friends list' in which only a handful remain active. Some have sadly passed on, others just gone away. Some have even undergone a name change ! My first camera used here was a whopping 2 mp.
There have been ups and downs on the site as we all will remember. My constructive comments about this image are as follows - a very appealing scene with fine detail and a reality that invokes vertigo. The sunshine adds a nice warmth. I have no technical expertise regarding the photo or any other one, never have done. Just one thing though - the white sand seems to have been washed away !

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

I agree that it is sad that so many have left. But I'm so thankful for the friends I do have still on Caedes. I have been here 19 years also. I started with a 6mp. Over the years you images have improved with your continuing learning and knowledge. I like the overview you captured here and the wave action, and variety of color. I see nothing to nick pick. Keep up the good work.
