It is no wonder that the Central Coast of California is known for its beautiful white, sandy beaches. This is from a pleasant walk I took before I looked at my tide table and realized that high tide was approaching. Behind me is a 100-foot high rock cliff. I believe I survived the ordeal.

Roger, I don't know the situation in California, but in my country, the fast rising tide can cause dangerous situations along the coast. Every year, people (often foreigners unfamiliar with tidal movements) underestimate the danger, often with dramatic consequences.
I hope you weren't caught so off guard by the rising tide that you found yourself in danger. Because you were able to take this beautiful photograph, I think my hope has been confirmed.
