Photo taken in 2008 at Kappad Beach, Kerala, India. This spot is only about 2 miles away from the place where on May 27th 1498 Vasco da Gama the first European to set foot in India landed with 170 men and 3 ships.
This is my entry for the contest.

Don't know whether Vasco da Cama had the intention to discover the beauty of India or had another goal, but he must have been impressed very much.
Like to agree with Milka that palm beaches, like the Kappad Beach, are not only tranquil but resembles a lot to what we expect to see in paradise.
